HAWK HOUSE

  • 2026 | Belmont, Massachusetts
    4,050 SF | 4 Bedrooms | 4 Bathrooms
    Net Positive (planned)

Hawk House is a modern, multigenerational home in Belmont designed to support three generations and long-horizon adaptability.

The clients wanted contemporary forms and ambitious performance goals, including a realistic path toward net-zero energy operation.

  • Working with Tagore on our home renovation and addition project in Belmont has been a remarkable experience. From our very first conversation, it was clear that Tagore brings an exceptional depth of knowledge that goes far beyond what you'd expect from most architects.

What sets Tagore apart is how thoroughly he thinks through every dimension of a project — not just the aesthetics, but the structural logic, material durability, and long-term value. When I came to him with a constrained budget, he didn't just accept limitations — he turned them into creative opportunities.

His material recommendations, like using cement flat panels with shadow line detailing instead of expensive wood cladding, demonstrated both his technical fluency and his ability to deliver sophistication at an honest price point. Tagore’s design process is rigorous and thorough. He thinks in layers — rhythmic studies, analytical grid overlays, elevation refinements — and he's honest about how long it takes to get things truly right. That kind of intellectual honesty is rare and valuable. He also takes time to understand not just the brief, but the people living in the home, making the design feel personal rather than generic.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Tagore to anyone seeking an architect who combines real creative talent with deep technical expertise and genuine care for the project outcome.
